The Marguerite Centre is an inter-faith retreat and meeting place for those who seek a deeper experience than they are presently living. Our emphasis is on spirituality rather than religion. To this end we offer retreats and workshops that allow us to look deeper within ourselves and by doing so, find and remove those blockages that are preventing us from truly living an abundant life of health and prosperity. To register for our retreats and workshops simply email reception@margueritecentre.com. A $35 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration. The Corner Garden is a Community Garden at the corner of Deacon and Paul Martin Drive, tucked into the corner of the Marguerite Centre’s expansive property. Vegetables were started in March 2007, under lights using heritage seed, and lovingly tended by volunteers. With support from Marguerite Centre, a cold frame was constructed, city compost and tools were purchased, a tiller rented and bit by bit the garden took shape. With the help of staff, pine needles, grass clippings and leaves were gathered up from around the property and delivered to the edge of the garden. A gazebo was built to offer shade to the participants and a shed built to keep the tools out of the weather. A second site was established at one of the building’s south facing walls for wind protection and the brick’s warmth. This is home for varieties of tomatoes and herbs. To learn more about the Corner Garden, or to get involved, contact the Marguerite Centre at (613)732-9926 or contact Lynne at (613)735-2070.
