Marguerite Centre Seniors Group

Marguerite Centre Seniors Group

seniors

For over a year now, bus after bus-load of lively people have been arriving at the Centre every second Wednesday for lunch. Our hall-ways are crowded and the cafeteria lines are long, as the ‘Marguerite Centre Seniors’ fill up the place with their conversations, crafts, card-games and general high-spirits.

Spear-headed and organized by Ann Coulas, the Seniors’ Group of about 35 folks have become a regular facet of the Centre’s work.  Ann is helped by several staff members, Roxanne Godin (for bus service and other duties), Lorrayne Cahill and Melody McLaughlin. The Seniors ended their year with an afternoon of fiddling, dancing and singing. Big plans are afoot for next year. Watch out!

Environmental Youth Group

Environmental Youth Group

In a way, it all began with a visit by John Seed. John's workshop last spring sparked the interests of some local youth in environmental issues and brought together a group from different high schools.

This summer, Dominica McPherson our student intern organized a wonderful youth conference with the help of Amber Kingsbury called EcoPulse and things have unrolled from there.

The youth have great plans, so they will keep you posted here!
